Well, last night probably sshouldn't have happened, but it felt as though we hadn't seen each other in weeks!

Friday - WTF, everybody stayed home!?! Oh well, distance makes the heart grow fonder, and all that. (Plus, I made a mean chipotle mac & cheese:)
Saturday - A day of adventure  for P's b-day. A field trip to bowling (how is it that we don't have any pictures from that?) Then bar hopping in Media. Food and beer at Quotations were excellent, I went to Joclyn's for the first time and had my first Jagar-bomb, and then a cocktail at Stephen's. Then, back to our bar! (Yay!) We all had a reeeeeealy good time. (Ouch!)
Sunday - Apparently I missed V's grilled cheese-gasm on Sunday night, but that's o.k., because on...
Monday - I went to Fogo de Chao! Which, btw, was really good, and I would recommend it to groups of very hungry people, but it couldn't top Amada. Then back to our bar, where the troops were gathered for an informal Philly Brew Company beer tasting. And they locked me out! Really!?! ME!?! Jeez, the nerve of some people (D, I'm looking at you!)

We have a great group: networking, supporting each other, sharing favorite tunes,oh, and watching C and V get drunk, LOL.

It's 11pm, do you know where your mother is???

So, it was Friday (1/14/11), and the bar was packed. The jukebox was loud, with an unusual variety of music, sort of like a school dance, if you went to school in the 80's. 

P had a brilliant suggestion for picking up chicks by the juke box... just play dumb; people like helping other people, sharing their musical interests, etc. It works. ;)

The music progressed to top 40/old-school mix, and surprisingly, EVERYBODY ended up dancing, B, H and P included. It was quite a workout, and we all outdid ourselves, so FUN!

Special thanks to the Mother's Club! We're glad you chose our bar, and hope to see you all again soon!

First things first, I chugged a Mad Elf. (The ILUVRBAR crew does NOT recommend chugging Mad Elf, or any other beer for that manor. We are much more sophisticated then that, and drink good beers worth savoring. That said, the cab came early and I couldn't WASTE Mad Elf! I was fine, but really, do not try this at home!)

C- "Lambs are a$$holes." V - "and lima beams, lima beans are a$$holes, too." At the time, it was hysterical! Maybe you had to be there...
Never the less, the lamb burgers were awesome, as were the pickled grapes, which I have to make myself one day.
Grace's Bar
What was that shot called again...The Lush Kitteh...The Tantalizing Tiger? No, that's not quite right...

So a random girl at Graces introduced P to this new shot, which she thought everybody should try, at least once. I happen to agree, and so does E.

2312 V.I.P. meeting held. The bartender was hardcore, but I made him smile, and my drinks came a lot faster after that. Unfortunately the waiter... bleck.

A top shelf margarita martini served by a good friend and homemade enchiladas, served to a good friend.

Life is good.

Though iluvrbar, sometimes to much of a good thing is too much. To that end, I spent the night at home. Which isn't such a bad place, really. I should probably spend more time here...nah! Weekend, here I come!

"I'm sticky!"

Umm.. uh..well, that is to say... I have great friends that stick with me through some rather interesting times.

Last night visiting with the Mad Elf (a Troegs holiday beer, very high alcohol at 11%, smooth, not too heavy, ruby red and subtly 'cherry-ish") was extra special. Hanging out with a couple of long-term friends, A and O, plus many of my newer Lansdowne friends made for a great night:)

Highlights...

• C and O got along swimmingly. By which I mean they were swimming in Mad Elf within minutes of arrival.
• We did not win the 300+ Million dollar lottery on Tuesday :( That's o.k., we still have each other, and our bar :)
• My awesome, shinny, black leather slouchy boots were a hit. B-"You look Hot!" and P-"Hun, the boots..." attest to that fact.
• ILUVRBAR blog was announced, and everyone seemed to happy to have a place in it:)
• A-"What's Amada?" C-"Nothing. What's amada with you?" Lol's ensued. For the record, Amada is one of my favorite restaurants, and restaurant week is coming...
• Everyone is looking forward to H's triumphant return to our bar. Get well soon!
• Plans for a field trip Saturday were discussed.
• Italian songs were sung, by patrons young and old (specifically, the youngest and oldest guys in the bar), until A left due to an allergic reaction to cheesy music.  :P
• Who knew that C has great nails?

That about sums it up, more posts coming soon with pictures from the last few months.
